West Georgia Health Foundation

Can one person truly make a difference in the life of another? The answer is a resounding yes. When one person gives his or her time, talents, and treasures to other human beings, good things happen. When an entire community gives its time, talents and treasures, great things happen for the good ofall. In 2005, the West Georgia Health Foundation was created, thanks to the work of more than 70 outstanding community volunteers. Their mission is to raise funds so that West Georgia Health System can continue to offer high quality services and facilities for generations to come.

Meet West Georgia Health Foundation
West Georgia Health Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization
that exists to support the vision of West Georgia Health System.
Corporate, community and employee volunteers work together through
the Foundation to raise money from individuals, corporations and other
foundations. Together they share an interest in supporting health care
and the work being done at West Georgia Health System. Contributions
to the Foundation are tax deductible and every dollar given is used to
support a project, program or service identified as a top priority.

Six Ways To Make A Difference
1) Annual Gifts
The Trellis Society recognizes individuals who make an annual gift. These gifts generally range from $100 to $1000 per year. By supporting the Health System with a yearly gift, you can consistently help to improve the quality of services and facilities.

2) Corporate Gifts
The Corporate Honor Roll consists of donors from the business and industry sector. These sponsorship gifts generally range from $2,500 to $50,000 or more. With an interest in employee health and services, corporations are contributing to the improved health of the entire community.

3) Planned Gifts
Many individuals and families are choosing to remember West Georgia Health System through planned gifts by joining the Heritage Circle. Gifts often include bequests, annuities, property, stock, securities, and trusts.

4) Special Gifts
Individuals giving $10,000 to $50,000 provide an important means of advancing key programs and services. Through their gifts, key services are funded often in honor of a loved one or as a tribute.

5) Signature Gifts
This is the highest level of giving and is priceless in terms ofwhat it means to the Health System. For gifts of $50,000 or more, naming opportunities are available to help honor a loved one or recognize a corporation or foundation’s generosity.

6) Employee Gifts
The employees of West Georgia Health System donated more than $450,000 in the 2005 employee campaign. They are doing their part to help ensure the future of our community health system.

Why does the Health System need my money?
Even though the Health System is fiscally sound and a good steward in allocating resources, financial demands take a toll. Patient service revenues are not enough to fund the Health System and meet the needs of facility improvements, technology or new services. In order to continue to grow and build upon the efforts of previous generations, it is necessary to find new ways to generate revenue and revitalize facilities and equipment. The Foundation is one ofthe most practical ways of working together as a community and building public-private partnerships to help sustain the Health System now and in the future.

How will my money be used?
The Foundation volunteers and hospital team have identified key projects and services for the Foundation to fund. The first priority is to help support the construction of a new and expanded Emergency Department. Other services and projects will be phased in during the years ahead.

Will I make a difference?
No matter how much you contribute or what recognition you receive, the greatest reward for supporting the Foundation is the satisfaction ofknowing you’ve helped to make our community health system stronger. It is difficult to place a value on “kindness” and “caring”, but your support makes those attributes real and tangible for future generations who will benefit from your generosity. Whatever amount you choose to donate, your gift will be combined with donations from others in the community and will serve to work toward a larger goal.
