Step: Developing Your Plan
of Care and Treatment Options
Following your fist visit, your medical team of will
meet to develop a treatment plan for you. Treatment options
vary according to the type of cancer, how advanced it
is, and the patient’s general health. It can take
from one day to one week to develop your treatment plan.
Using your CT scan and computer diagnostics, the physics
team, made up of a physicist, dosimetrist and radiation
oncologist, determine the best method of treating a patient’s
individual cancer.
The three main types of treatment
offered at the Enoch Callaway Cancer Center are surgery,
chemotherapy and radiation. These may be prescribed alone
or in some combination.
