PACE
Performance and Achievement through Consultation and
Education Employee Assistance Program
The PACE program at West Georgia Health
System partners with businesses and industries in West
Georgia and East Alabama to help them create a drug-free
workplace and a safer, more productive workforce. PACE,
an employee assistance program, offers companies and
their employees confidential consultation and assistance
to achieve a drug-free workplace through consultation, education
and substance abuse screening.
The PACE package includes:
- Model policies and forms that companies can modify for their
purposes, including:
- a substance abuse policy
- a letter to employees explaining the program
- a pre-employment consent for testing
- an active employee certificate of agreement to participate
- return to work
- Training for supervisors and employees
- Posters
- Program information to distribute
- Substance abuse screening
- Consultation with managers regarding intervention
- Access to a dedicated 24-hour telephone consultation line
- Assessment of the employee's problem
- Referrals to appropriate treatment
- Follow-up for employee compliance
- Annual status and progress reports provided to each company.
