West Georgia Medical Center to limit public access after visiting hours
In an effort to secure a safer environment for its patients, visitors, physicians and staff, West Georgia Medical Center will begin limiting public access between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m.
Effective Monday, Dec. 15, the WGMC Emergency Department will be the only entrance open to visitors between these hours. All other entrances will be locked and accessible only to physicians and staff who need to enter the building during these hours.
“This move just makes good sense,” says West Georgia Health System President/CEO Jerry Fulks. “Limiting public access during the very late and early morning hours was a practice that our health system implemented several years ago. In recent years, we apparently relaxed this practice but it is now time to revise and enforce our policy. We want to create a safer environment for our patients while they entrust their care to us.” |
