West Georgia Health System’s Catherine Phillips, R.N. recognized as G.R.E.A.T. Ambassador
Catherine Phillips, R.N., has been named as West Georgia Health System’s first-ever G.R.E.A.T. Ambassador. Created by the Georgia Hospital Association (GHA), the G.R.E.A.T. Ambassador Program, which stands for Giving Recognition for Excellence, Advocacy, and Teamwork, allows hospital employees the opportunity to tell their stories about why they chose the health care profession, why they like their job and what they like about working for their hospital.
Phillips, the director of West Georgia Dialysis, described her career as one of miracles. “As a nurse, you experience the circle of life,” she said. “Seeing a new mom hold her baby for the first time. Providing life to a young husband and dad through kidney dialysis. Witnessing the courage and faith of the human soul to survive when looking into the face of breast cancer, multiple sclerosis, or diabetes. Watching the tenacity of a double-leg amputee put on the prosthesis and walk with head held high. I have been blessed by the miracles of those I have tried to serve.”
"Cathy is an ideal recipient for the health system’s first ever G.R.E.A.T. Ambassador recognition,” said Jerry Fulks, President/CEO of WGHS. “She represents everything West Georgia Health System stands for: putting the patient first.”
The G.R.E.A.T. Ambassadors from each hospital/health system were honored by the GHA with statewide recognition. |
