West Georgia Health System Hosts
Second Heart Truth for Women Luncheon
Stress
is a normal part of life. But how you cope with stress can affect
your heart. Women can learn valuable information to protect themselves
and their health at the second annual Heart Truth for Women Luncheon
Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at the Callaway Center
at West Georgia Technical College.
"Women
often think it's selfish to take care of themselves first,"
said Jane Bower, director of cardiovascular services at West Georgia
Health System. "But your good health is a benefit to everyone
who relies on you — your family, your friends, your employer
— and making small, lifestyle changes now could save your
life."
The
event is part of a national awareness campaign on women and heart
disease and will feature the medical insight of Dr. Karyn Hunnicutt
in her presentation, "Stress: Friend or Foe," as well
as a humorous and inspirational message from "Enthusiastigator"
Ellen Hester. As waitress Florence Jean of the popular 1980s sit-com
"Alice," Hester presents a thought-provoking prescription
for removing unnecessary stressors from your life in her presentation
"Hardening of the Attitudes." Lunch prepared by local
chef/caterer Tulla White will be served at noon. The event will
conclude at 1:30 p.m.
Each
guest will also receive a goodie bag of treats to soothe and invigorate
the body and soul.
What
a great Valentine's gift for the important ladies in your life.
Tickets for the event are $20 per person or $150 for a table of
9.
