WGHS employees recognized as a top giver to United Way

West Georgia Health System received three top honors at the annual United Way banquet Tuesday, April 20, honoring donors of the 2004 campaign.   Recognized as one of the top givers in the community, WGHS raised $72,731 in employee donations. The health system's collective gift placed WGHS at fifth among the top nine companies raising the most money. Being part of this elite group, WGHS earned the distinction of winning an Over the Top Award.  

For the ninth year in a row, WGHS also received the Bronze Award for achieving 26 percent of the organization's potential among employee giving. This award is designated for businesses that achieve 25 to 49 percent of their potential and is based solely on the generosity of employee giving.

In addition, WGHS became the second recipient of the Summit Award, which honors a non-industrial business with more than 50 employees making the highest total contribution to the campaign.

“Thanks to the generosity of our employees, we are making a difference in the lives of hundreds of people in our community who benefit from United Way,” says WGHS President/CEO Jerry Fulks. “I am extremely proud to work among a group of people who not only dedicate their life's work to caring for their patients, but also to reaching out to people in need within our community.”
